It's not uncommon for lots of users to use weak passwords simply because they're much easier to remember or to use scripts, templates and plugins which aren't updated for a long time. In either of these cases, it will not be hard for a hacker to take over the site and from that point on to take control of other sites which are hosted in the same account. To prevent such a scenario, we have added an innovative security option called JailHost. It restricts the access which a script has just to its own folder, so if one of your websites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but won't be able to view any other content within your account, which means that the damage will be minimal. Of course, using JailHost will not substitute the security measures you should take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, but it'll allow you to limit the damage to one site only.
JailHost in Shared Hosting
JailHost is available by default with all the shared hosting plans that we provide and you could enable it with just a mouse click from your Hepsia Control Panel. In contrast to other Control Panels where add-on domains keep their content in the primary domain folder, each domain or subdomain in Hepsia has its own folder, which means that using JailHost will make a big difference. You will be able to choose which websites will use this feature and will be locked based on your content since you could have some website where you want to allow users or administrators to access other folders in your web hosting account. Nonetheless, this feature will add an extra level of security to your sites in addition to the firewalls which we use and even if any of your Internet sites gets hacked, you'll be able to restore it easy and fast using any of the multiple daily backup copies of your entire account that we'll generate.
JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers
JailHost comes with all our semi-dedicated server plans and you could activate it with a few clicks. It is not activated by default as we don't want to prevent some scripts that may need to gain access to multiple folders in your account from working properly. You can activate JailHost for all other Internet sites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and this can be done effortlessly even when you lack previous experience. What enables us to offer JailHost is the way Hepsia handles multiple domains - they all have individual folders that can be "locked". In contrast, other popular Control Panels have add-on domains and the content of the latter is stored in the main domain folder, so if a single Internet site is hacked, the whole account is hacked, which is not the case with Hepsia. If a site is damaged despite your efforts, we'll be able to recover it the way it was in no time because we'll store a few daily backups of the entire account.
